How can GHS offer me such great rates?
At GHS we only insure good drivers. This means GHS customers don't pay for the negligence or accidents of careless drivers. Usually we can increase the level of coverage for our customers and still save them around $300 on their auto insurance.
At GHS our ideal risk is the following:
- At least seven years of driving experience
- No at-fault accidents in the past three years
- No more than one not-at-fault accident in the past three years
- No more than one minor violation in the past three years
- No more than one weather-related loss in the past three years
- No more than a maximum combination of two incidents (any of the above) per household in the past three years
Even if you don't fit all of the above, you may still qualify. Call 1-888-I-GET-GHS for more specific information.
How can I get a quote?
It's as simple as calling 1-888-I-GET-GHS or completing the on-line form.
How do I apply for GHS?
Call 1-888-I-GET-GHS to get your free, 15-minute rate quote over the phone. Or complete the on-line form and receive an on-line quote within two to three business days. If you qualify for GHS auto insurance, we then will send you an application. Return it with your down payment and you'll receive your policy documents in the mail.
At GHS we offer a variety of payment options including full, quarterly and monthly payment plans, as well as automatic bank withdrawal. Plus, depending on your employer, you could make your monthly payments through GHS At Work, GHS' award-winning payroll deduction program. For more information on GHS At Work, click here.
What discounts does GHS offer?
At GHS we offer substantial savings for air bags, passive restraints, anti-lock brakes, anti-theft devices, multiple cars, multiple policies, good grades and more, depending on your state of residence.
What affects my rates?
- Driving record
- Age
- The type of coverage you select
- Where your vehicle is garaged
- Type of vehicle
- How your vehicle is used
- Miles to and from work
- Whether or not your vehicle is leased
How can I reduce my rates?
At GHS, we offer a variety of discounts:
- Safety features such as anti-lock brakes, passive restraints and air bags
- Good grades (depending on state of residence)
- Anti-theft device
- Defensive driving course
- Driver training for youthful drivers
A good driving record will also help you get a lower rate. And consider the type of vehicle you drive. Typically family sedans and more conventional cars are less expensive to insure than sports cars.
I'm a good driver, but if I have an accident or get a ticket in the future, will I be canceled?
We offer renewal to 98% of our customers. Accidents and tickets will affect your rate, but not until your next renewal date.
How long do accidents and tickets affect my rate?
All traffic convictions and accidents remain on your driving record for three years. Points for traffic convictions and chargeable accidents are added and removed at the renewal of your policy.
What is insurance?
Insurance is a way of spreading financial risk among large numbers of people. You pay a premium to an insurance company for the right to share in funds set aside to pay your costs in certain pre-defined circumstances.
Why do I need insurance?
Auto insurance is designed to protect you financially. You can be held responsible for damages that you or anyone for whom you are responsible cause as a result of an auto accident.
In addition, most states make automobile insurance a legal requirement. States typically require that you provide proof that you are financially able to pay damages for which you might be responsible that result from an automobile accident. An insurance policy is the most convenient way to prove your ability to meet your responsibilities.
Who is covered under my insurance policy?
Your policy usually covers you, your spouse, relatives who live in your household and others who have permission to drive one of your covered vehicles.
What types of coverage are available?
Bodily injury liability
Insurance which pays the medical costs of other people which you cause unintentionally or through negligence as a result of an automobile accident.
Property damage liability
Insurance which pays claims against you if you damage someone else's car or property either unintentionally or through negligence in an automobile accident.
Comprehensive or Other-Than-Collision coverage
Optional coverage which pays for damage to your auto caused by things such as fire, theft, vandalism, flood or hail.
Collision coverage
Optional coverage which pays for damage to your auto as a result of collision with another car or object.
Rental reimbursement coverage
Pays the cost to rent a substitute auto if your vehicle is disabled due to a covered loss.
Towing and labor coverage

Uninsured motorist coverage
Insurance which provides protection against bodily injury loss, and in some states, property damage, resulting from an accident involving a hit-and-run driver or a driver who does not have insurance.
Medical payments coverage
Pays for medical and funeral expenses for you and your passengers resulting from an accident, regardless of who is at fault.
Please consult your particular policy for provisions, limits of coverage and any exclusions.
